Emerald Bay Camp

Emerald Bay is north of Two Harbors and it close to the northern end of the island. Read about the camp's history here.

Rough Schedule  

Friday: 

  • Activities Open 3:30-5:30pm

  • Dinner: 6pm

  • Season Ending Slideshow 6:45pm

  • Campfire #1and Graduation at Campfire Circle (wear your vests): 7:30-8:30pm

  • Midnight Meat: 9:30pm+

Saturday

  • Breakfast (7:30am), Lunch (12:30pm), Dinner (6pm)

  • Activities Open9am-12pm and 1:30-5:30pm

  • Hike

  • Pin Program 1:30pm at Parade Ground

  • Dad Olympics 2:30pm at Beach

  • New Chief Induction 3:30pm at Beach

  • Campfire #2 at Campfire Circle: ~8pm

Sunday

  • Polar Plunge 6:45am, end of dock

  • Breakfast (7:30am)

  • Depart​

Event Details:

  • Check-in Begins 12:30pmpm

  • Boat departs 1:30pm (La Espada) May 17

  • Bags/gear can be dropped at the curb by the boat dock - you'll see the guys and YMCA

  • Boat to/from Emerald Bay, lodging and meals included (Fri Dinner, Sat Break/Lunch/Dinner, Sun Break)

  • Boats leaves Emerald 9:30am (boarding 8:45am) and returns to Long Beach at 11am.

  • Bring your tent if you want to camp on the beach.  Else, you'll be in traditional bunks with foam mattresses (8-person cabins).

What to Pack:

  • Weather for this weekend looks to be mid 50s to mid 60s.  Pack layers, the nights should be cold.

  • Wagons may or may not be allowed on the boat, they don't like them!  Strong suggestion is to strap your gear to the wagon to make movement easy, but be prepared to have to empty and fold it.

  • Label your things - they may fall from wagons

  • Sleeping Bags 

  • Sleeping Pads

  • Lanterns, Flashlights, Headlamps (batteries)

  • Water Bottles 

  • Camp Chairs (small folding, not large frame)

  • Games - frisbee, ladder ball, etc

  • Beach Towels

  • Sunscreen, Sunglasses, Hats

  • Snacks as desired

  • YOUR AG VESTS!

  • Circle and Expedition Flags!

Camp Activities - are "open house" style, you have the flexibility to do what you want given the activity windows.  

Activity Windows are 9am-12pm and 1:30-5:30pm.

  • Kayaks

  • Paddle Boards

  • BB Guns (Sat only)

  • Archery (Sat only)

  • Marine Science Center
