LOCATION:

Indian Cove Campground, Indian Cove Mountain Rd,
Twentynine Palms, CA 92277

Camp Details:

  • Joshua Tree National Park is a vast protected area in southern California. It's characterized by rugged rock formations and stark desert landscapes. Named for the region’s twisted, bristled Joshua trees, the park straddles the cactus-dotted Colorado Desert and the Mojave Desert, which is higher and cooler

  • Indian Cove Campground is located off of Highway 62, thirteen miles east of Joshua Tree Village and ten miles west of Twentynine Palms on the north side of the Wonderland of Rocks. Indian Cove Road dead-ends at this secluded area.

  • There are vault toilets and no water, but have no fear...there is water at the Ranger stations and you should bring your own water as well

  • We are limited on the number of cars, so do your best to carpool

  • We suggest you arrive as early on possible on Friday to set camp and make the most of your day...there's hiking and plenty of outdoor time

  • The weather is expected to be 75-85 in the day and 50-70 at night, winds are always possible so guy out those tents

  • Aim to bring smaller footprint tents...there won't be enough room if everyone brings their 10-person cabins

Event Details

  • Meals: Friday Dinner, Saturday Breakfast, Saturday Dinner and Sunday Breakfast in your registration fee.  The Food Committee will own the details.  Sat Lunch is at the circle level

  • Friday Night Dance Party, possible sing-along, joke night, etc.

  • Saturday Rock Climbing at Indian Cove Amphitheater! We will have 1/2 the day blocked for this and will split those who register (via the YMCA event registration site) into (2) groups.  Each group will have a 2-hour climbing window. This is very safe top-rope climbing with the kids on belay by the guides

  • Read about our rock climbing guides here

  • Saturday Night Campfire

  • PioneerTown: this is an interesting and historical stop on your way to or from Indian Cove.  There are some shops and a restaurant.  It's located approx 24 miles or 30 min away. You can read more details here
