Event Details:

  • September 7, 2018

  • Arrive around 4pm for check-in

  • Tell the parking attendant you are for Roar and Snore, park in Preferred Parking Lot

  • Check-in at the booth in the Preferred Parking Lot

  • You must have a zoo ticket...either via YMCA, your annual pass, Groupon, etc

  • This is an exclusive night just for Sunshine!

  • Maximum attendance is 240

  • There are (3) types of lodging to choose from, each with unique pricing

  • Camp games are set up - jenga, corn hole, etc

  • Tours will be split into groups of 20-25 people

  • Cheetah Run: arrive by 2:30pm to witness this cat in action! 

  • LATE ARRIVALS: there is a phone at the ticket booth which will ring security.  Security will radio Roar and Snore staff to come get you.  Additionally, ring Lauren Szabo our Ops Coordinator at (760) 535-7531.  She will have someone escort you back. 

      If you arrive after 6pm be sure that you          have already eaten dinner. 

Cheetah Run!

  • Arrive by 2:30pm to witness this cat in action!

  • Location: Lion Camp

  • Time: Daily at 3:30 pm weather permitting

  • The spotted sprinter races on a straight 330-foot-long track that allows the cheetah to stretch its legs and reach an astounding speed: 0 to 70 miles per hour in just 4 seconds while chasing a mechanical lure attached to its favorite toy 

Stuff to Pack

  • Depending on your chosen lodging, you'll need sleeping bags and pillows

  • Toiletries 

  • PJs

  • Blanket and snuggle buddy for your daughter (or you, we don't judge!)

  • Small water bottle that fits in your duffle

  • Flashlights with extra batteries

  • Warm clothing options if the night/morning is cold

  • Camera

  • Binocoluars if you'd like

Evening Agenda:

4:15pm: Check-in at Roar & Snore Check-in booth in the Preferred Parking Lot

5:00pm: Enter Park grounds with Tour Guide

5:30pm: Dinner at Camp

6:30pm: Roll Call (have your circle songs/cheer ready)

6:45pm: Private walking tours depart (explore big cat areas, nocturnal animals, and meet an animal up close)

9:00pm: Snack (s'mores at fire pit, popcorn and hot chocolate)

9:05pm: Wish Sticks and Candyman

10:00pm: Lights out

Morning Agenda:

6:15 - 6:45am: Wake up calls

7:00am: Breakfast at Camp

7:40am: Round Up and Roll Call

8:00am: Private tram ride

8:30am: Morning walking tour

9-9:30am: Zoo Exit and re-enter as desired
